Members DonK Posted July 1, 2006 Members Posted July 1, 2006 Is St. Louis Music a big store, small store...? Seems like they are taking a long time to take care of this for you. I'm curious. How did you originally select the RD20? Did you look at a lot of guitars/brands/models before picking that one, or did you just come across it and say, "this is the one."?

St Louis Music is a pretty big company, not a store, rather distributor for Alvarez, Crate & Ampeg, among others. They've been around a long time & they sell to music stores.

I don't understand why they just don't replace yours with a new one. It's "nice" of them to give you a beater for a loaner, but didn't you also have to pay for the shipping to send the defective guitar back? do you think the problem is w/ Alvarez, St. Louis music, or both? I really hope I don't have problems w/ my alvarez after reading about your experience.
Members guit30 Posted July 1, 2006 Author Members Posted July 1, 2006 After a year of looking for a comfortable guitar to play, I came across the Rd20S at my local store. Worked great for 10 monthes and then the truss rod adjuster went. I don't like the loaner, it's action is hi and the neck is thicker than my original guitar. I am gettin really frustrated with Alvarez after promoting them as good for so long. I'm taking the loaner back today and tell them I don't want it and yes they are telling me that I have to pay the shipping.Nice warrantyJimPS- That DM I played last week played nice, wish I could afford it, nice neck profile
