Members Bono Posted July 3, 2006 Members Posted July 3, 2006 I just bought a brandnew Fender Acoustic a few weeks ago. I always thought it was hard to press the strings down- but then I started telling myself that that
Members Queequeg Posted July 3, 2006 Members Posted July 3, 2006 if it's brand new it should have been set up by the dealer that sold it to you. If you bought it locally, I would recommend that you take it back to them & have it set the way you like it. If you bought it long-distance (a la via the Internet) first thing is, I would thoroughly read Freeman Keller's thread (sticky) @ the top of the HC Acoustic page entitled IS MY GUITAR SICK? then decide whether you want to make some needed adjustments or take it to a local dealer for them to make on your behalf. I think you might expect to pay around $60 for a good professional setup these days. be extra careful if you decide to start messing around with the truss rod.

DONT mess with the truss rod unless you are absolutely sure you know what it does and what you are doing!
