Members Sweb Posted June 25, 2006 Members Posted June 25, 2006 Very nice guitar. Went to Sam Ash today and played a bunch of mid-range Larrivees and Martins. Was looking for an OM-21 but Ash didn't have one. I thought of the bunch the 000-28 was pretty well balanced but what surprised me the most was the action. It was close to a Larrivee factory action. Is Martin changing their factory set-ups or are they just making sure their fingerstyle guitars are set closer? I didn't realize it until I left the store or I would have looked at their dreads to compare. I did buy my kid an electric violin. That thing consumed him when we got home. He is totally stoked on it. Guess I can kiss my amp good-bye.
Members DonK Posted June 25, 2006 Members Posted June 25, 2006 I had a 000-28 for a few years. It was a wonderful specimen, and I wish I had it back. One of these days I'm definitely going to get another. I've also had a 00-15 and an OM-15CE, and they were both really nice guitars, but I really like the short scale on the 000-28. I'd like to find one with a 1.75" nut width, but not a Clapton, which I think is too much money for aging toner and Clapton's signature.

Members SpaceCowboy409 Posted July 6, 2006 Members Posted July 6, 2006 I've got a '99 000-28EC that has the best action I've ever experienced on an acoustic - right from the store, with no set-up needed.

Members Dr.Dan Posted July 7, 2006 Members Posted July 7, 2006 Just been trying out some acoustics ... I've been acoustic-less for too many years now. I've spent all my cash over the years on electrics & amps. But the time is right to but the acoustic to take me to my grave (I'm only 40 btw ). Of all the Martins I've tried to date, the only one I liked was the 000-28. It was really nice! My favourite so far. Some of the Taylors I tried were pretty good too.
