Members jutah Posted July 8, 2006 Members Posted July 8, 2006 Hey all, I have been trying to find a decent acoustic elec and have been running into problems finding one. Some people gave me suggestions on looking at the Washburn D10SCE and some Alvarez. The problem I ran into is that all the guitar centers by me do not sell Washburn or Alvarez acoustic elec. They told me they could order them for me, but I need to play them first! They do seem to have Takamines and Ibenaz. Could you guys help me on some good models of Takamines and Ibenaz to try? I looking at anywhre between $300 - ~$800 range. I originally was looking at lower end Martins, butI felt they were over priced just bc the name. Specially when the Washburn had a solid top and was about a third of the price. Any thoughts? I also just tried the Matin DCX1E I liked how it felt and sounded it also had a solid top, but it was $700. Do you guys think this guitar is over priced just bc the name or is it a good guitar? Thanks, Jutah

It's a great guitar plugged or unplugged. Never played a DCX1E, but I have a D1 (non-cutaway, non-electric), and I think it's the best guitar I own. Hope that helps you some.
Members dadgad7 Posted July 8, 2006 Members Posted July 8, 2006 don't know much 'bout Washburn... I love Taks though, always excellent playability, and their electronics rival the best out there!
Members beard Posted July 8, 2006 Members Posted July 8, 2006 I have an Alvarez AD60CK. Best Acoustic/Electric you could possibly want. Find one and play it if you can. If you can't, order one and then send it back if you don't like it. But I swear, you will. It is made of dao wood.
