Members Sweb Posted July 14, 2006 Members Posted July 14, 2006 I remember one year my New Year's resolution was to stop smoking. But, UPS went on strike and almost busted the company I was working with. Paralyzed it pretty good. So, I gave up using UPS instead. It was healthier.

UPS is the most reliable shipping service I use. When you generate a shipping label the information is sent to UPS at that moment. It will show as shipped before UPS has their hands on the package. UPS Ground can take up to 6 days. It all depends on WHEN the UPS person picks up the shipment. UPS has regular routes for commercial businesses. They come around near the same time every day. Your guitar could have sat on the dock until late Tuesday afternoon. Again, I'm not trying to make excuses for Alvarez. Sometimes UPS Ground takes 2 days, sometimes it takes 6. There are a lot of variables involved.

That's what happens when profitable companies play hard ball in negoitiations. They feel comfortable going into a strike because they have the cash surplus to absorb the loss. They end up losing business and loyal customers while arguing over contract issues that have far less impact on their bottom line in the long run. No one wins in a strike.
