Members Stackabones
There's Delta, Texas, Piedmont, Chicago, and so forth. Here's a little Russian blues on a niner, looks like the top three are doubled like a 12-string. Sounds like open-G. I know Russians use an open G tuning on the 7-string. Yuri Naumov. He's got a website, Home of the Russian Blues, or something like that. Google will find it if you're interested.
Members Terry Allan Hall
Interesting! I know an old Russian dude who plays a nylon strung 7-string (pretty common in Russia, he tells me), tuned DGDGBDG. No idea what he's singing about, though... Next time I know for sure he'll be coming out, I'll PM you...we've worked out a dozen or tunes, where I'll play mandolin, that sound pretty good!
