Members guit30 Posted July 26, 2006 Members Posted July 26, 2006 Well, it is here and I am happy with it. The top is much nicer than my first RD20, it is not bookmatched, but the color is real light blonde spruce and tight straight grain. Took it to my new luthier to get it set up for extra lites, did it myself last time, but this time I thought I would have it done professionally, plus the nut needs to be filed deeper and I don't wanna mess with that. This guy really seems like he knows what he is talking bout. He was really concerned about putting the xtra lites on with my style of play. So I played some and he smiled, should be no problem, He picked up the guitar and started ripping off some incredible loud riffs. He is going to charge me about $30, I brought my own Strings ,it will be ready for the weekend. Guitar is beautiful, side and back wood is much lighter , could be nato or sapele, don't care its all plywood underneath, it is the top that counts, looking forward to getting it back Jim

I put a set of Martin SP PB's on it last week. They sound a lot better than the D'Addario EJ16's I had on it. I'm also starting to think that it's "opening up" a bit (could be in my head). Side note: the Grover Sta-Tite tuners work great. It stays in tune better than my Larrivee did.

I really didn't get much info when i googled it.
