Hey all ... I finally took some pics (new A&L, etc., ..) and was going to post a message with inline images but I can't figure out how to do it. The pics are JPG files on my PC.

Anybody feel like giving me a quick pointer on this ?

Thanks !

When you're posting there's a brows button at the bottem of the page. It only allows a certain amount of bits 104,000 something or other. Lots of people use Putfile, but someone els will have to clue you in on that though, I've never used it.

Thanks JT - yeah I saw that. That option seems to put in a "file attachment" instead of an inline pic.

Tha inline pic function seems to use html-like vbCode, but it looks to me like the picture has to already reside on a web site somewhere ... Is there a typical place that members upload their pics to before posting them inline in a forum ?

... Or does this work some other way ... ?

It is very simple and works the same on almost every forum. First you need a place to host your pictures - I use Photobucket.com. It is free - you just need to put up with their ads. Resize you pics to about 600x800 and upload to your host. Then just copy/paste the link to the entire picture name to the IMG button (from photobucket you can just copy the bottom name, it will have the stuff

One last addition to this thread.

To those who may have been in the same shoes as me (newbie at posting inline pics), I had this experience:

- When using Putfile.com, the pics appeared as links in my posts

- When using Photobucket.com, the pics appeared inline.

No idea why ... thought I'd share this.

Thanks again all ... I have edited my pic post using Photobucket and the pics are now in the post itself.

Cheers !
