Played a bunch of bluesy stuff today. Crazy match-up between a Yahama CG-110CE and Ovation plugged through a Fender Acoustisonic amp. Best part - it was with my boss, at work and on company time. HoHum, just another {censored}ty day in paradise.

Yep. Actually, we're pretty focused there on the actual work we're supposed to be doing. He plays pretty well and is a budding fingerstylist. When we do manage to get a little time we'll try to work something out. Right now we're figuring out how to knit our styles together. He knows a lot of "X" and I know a lot of "Y" so there is a lot of middle ground we can agree upon. After-hours are our usual session times.

What I'm looking to do is get him a little more "learned up" with the fingerstyle so we can do some change-ups throughout a piece. That's what I call collaboration. I have a lot of instrumental stuff I've written and, eventually, I would like to lay a few pieces down using two guitars playing complementary fingerstyle. Doing the practice doesn't require great guitars so we fake it thru the amp with his Ovation and the Yahama classical I leave at work. They both actually sound tons better plugged, low volume, and with a touch of reverb to make us sound better. :D

... Doncha love that reverb ... ?

Sounds like a cool environement to be working in, Sweb.

Concerning fingerstyle, one thing I've got to get around to doing is figuring out how to get a real rolling clawhammer going ... I knew a guy named Brendan Nolan who used to sing in an Irish pub here (a real Irishman to boot !), and he showed me how to do it about 20 years ago ... Never got it sounding as good as he could do it though ...

One of these days .....
