I have a 1990 Guild D-25 with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides. I also have an old Supro model 1606 tube amp (6V6, 12AX7, 5Y3-single volume control, 5 watts). I'm looking for a pickup to put in the soundhole for some Lightnin Hopkins-esque tones using this guitar and amp set-up. I've been looking at the old Dearmond acoustic 210 models, and have heard clips on Little Brother's website. Very cool, but these can be expensive on ebay and somewhat hard to find in good shape. I would greatly appreciate any advice/suggestions as to what more modern day pickup would get me close to this type of sound with this set-up. I've read some good reviews on the SD Woody SC on HC and the $ is certainly good. Any others in this price range or slightly higher that would work? Thanks!!!
