Dents, Cracks and sound(It wasnt me Guys)

do small dings and cracks affect sound and playability?

My buddy was over the other night and we were a little tipsy from the bar. I was reading some reviews and went to hop into the shower. Apparantly he decided he would say a few kind words to some folks who were just answering my questions.

i don't think dings will affect anything except the looks because mostly dings are only on the surface of the guitar's finish.

 

cracks? depends whether it is the wood or just the finish that cracked.. if it is the former i think it will affect the sound but then it depends on the crack size, the location and the severity.

 

if its just a small 1mm hairline crack then it'll be ok but do repair it.

 

for me dings, scratches just adds to the character of the guitar, at least i know i have been playing hard. but cracks i'll repair it immediately
