Last night, I was so ready to give up on her.

There I was, after a tough day, feeling the urge to play a little and as per usual of late, she wasn't in the mood.

The more I tried the less she was responding. Maybe it was the "weather" or maybe I just don't listen to her like I used to. Whatever. Either way, I knew it was time for a change.

Still, this morning I had to give her another go and all I can say is wow. With my very first touch, I could feel this reverberation in her body, which signaled the beginning of a very special session.

Well I'm happy to report that a couple of hours - and a few new calluses- later and my confidence in our relationship has once again been restored.

P.S. Read what you want into this, but I'm totally talking about my acoustic guitar. Honestly........

Well,

Think about this. Last night, you were anxious and just wanted to get right down to business. This morning, you were slower and took more your time.

The answer is : FOREPLAY :thu:

You might also need a few more guitars :D

I do know what you mean though. Sometimes, the mojo and the synergy just isnt there....

Here in the states, the word "synergy" is a corporate management catch phrase. Using it while discussing guitars is a sure way to kill your mojo.....;)

Big business ain't got no soul....

Harrrrumph! What a typical GUY thing to say ;)
My EX husband was like that. One was never enough for him.

Maybe Do3nut just needs to spend some time with a soft cloth, polishing her gently but firmly, before he plays her.

:p

Well, there you have it. That's how it's done. If we want to go OT, it's best if it's done subliminally. OTs cannot be "fundamentals" to our discussions, they must be dealt with as "overtones" or better yet as "undertones". I'm going off the deep-end, aren't I?

But JT, you did mean a couple more guitars, though, didn't you?

Oh, and SusanV, did you ever consider that maybe everytime you bought a guitar your ex.............just kidding of course. But those close to you can go to extreme measures when dealing with your GAS.

Come to think of it, I have an idea for a thread. See you in a sec......

Hey thanks, but I try to look on the bright side... I have a lot of nice guitars now, BUT even better, I have a great husband now who is a fantastic role model for my son, and they're crazy about each other. Life is good ;)

and to keep this on topic....

sometimes a geetar can be very handsome sitting there in the showroom. All shiny and new... the glare from the abalone can blind you and make you get real stoooopid and get you thinking you can't live without it. But what really matters is the sound. When you play it, does it have depth and a resonance that will last and get even better with time? Has it been well made, with strong even grain that will keep the neck straight and true and playing in tune?

I guess the moral of the story is... When choosing something wrap your arms around for the rest of your life...

Don't let good looks make you stoopid ;)
