Members theGOOCH Posted August 11, 2006 Members Posted August 11, 2006 What kind of system do you use for your guitar room? Where I live it gets really dry for long periods and really humid for long periods
Members JasmineTea Posted August 11, 2006 Members Posted August 11, 2006 In the winter I use warm mist humidifiers for the apartment. In summer I don't use anything.
Members Freeman Keller Posted August 11, 2006 Members Posted August 11, 2006 I just put a damp sponge in a baggie with holes in it in the head area of each case. When I play the git I dampen the sponge (every week or so). Not scientific or elegent but it seems to work. I have a couple of Dampits that I use in the winter. Gits stay in their cases (except the resos and every time I try to humidify them they get all rusty LOL). Eastern Washington, unlike the other side of the hills, tends to be pretty dry so I humidify them year around.
Members theGOOCH Posted August 11, 2006 Author Members Posted August 11, 2006 In the summer here it can be 80-90% humidity for weeks on end sometimes. The A/C lowers it to about 60% in the house. Do you think that's high enough to worry about? I know 45-50% is ideal
