Interesting, but I doubt I'll be buying one...kind weird getting that octave only when I play the "G" string.

Now, this is more interesting to me!:

Maybe I'll finally get my George Van Eps/Bucky Pizzarelli mojo workin'! :)

TAH,

I bought one of the HD-7's about a year ago. I bought it because of the deal the dealer gave me on it. I couldn't pas it up. The guitar is a beautiful instrument that sounds great strummed. I think it's design relegates it to a rhythym role for sure. If you pick at melodies or leads, that extra G does kinda stand out.
It's a cool guitar but, IMO, has a limited application. I've been trying to pick more these days so I figure I can offset the price of a future guitar I really, really want with the HD-7. So, I am glad I have it.

Again, in it's realm, it does great. Someone on this forum talked about seeing Roger McGuinn a little while back and said he made the guitar sound great. I suppose, If I played it more I could end up playing the stuff on it it was meant to play. It is, most definately, a niche guitar, though. No doubt about it. But it is still a higher end Martin with all of the accolades that go along with that. Certainly a beauty with wonderful sound across the board.

Terry, I have one of those. It's interesting and a bit of a mindfu
I don't use mine much because I'm mostly a fingerpicker and the string spacing is a tad to tight for my comfort. It is a really cool guitar, though. You can play alternating bass with Barred chords. I also have a seven string Squier DoubleFat Strat, which more adequately fills my purposes on 7-string. My needs for both solidbody and 7-string are both very nominal. So it works for me to have them rolled into one cheap guitar.:)

If you are really serious about getting one, I'll consider selling you mine. It's virtually unused. Let me know what you think.-Nels

Ever think of just removing the extra string?

Well, I probably can't offer you what you probably want for it until about February, but I'm definitely interested! What kinda $$$ do you need for it and does it have the case?

Indeed, I hope to cop some of what he does, although he tunes his DGDGBDG, whereas jazz 7-stringers (usually) tune AEADGBE.

Rock 7-stringers (usually) tune 'em BEADGBE.
