Members GUITKRAZY Posted August 23, 2006 Members Posted August 23, 2006 Latley I have been doing more acoustic guitar playing than I have with my Electrics- I am wondering if any other acoustic players use a pedalboard and what effects when they play? I am thinking about building one and using my Rockman Acoustic pedal, Tuner, EQ and possibly a delay- Let me know what you all use or think?
Members Stackabones Posted August 23, 2006 Members Posted August 23, 2006 Every gig I have my Boss Loop Station RC20XL. I used to, and occasionally still use, my Zoom A2. Let us know your pedalboard results! Pics, too!
Members Rickkkk Posted August 23, 2006 Members Posted August 23, 2006 Not me ... I go straight to the PA through a DI. I like my amplified acoustic as natural as possible. Just a personal preference. Cheers !
Members recordingtrack1 Posted August 23, 2006 Members Posted August 23, 2006 I use only a slight amount of reverb. Usually set to a"large room" or "medium hall" Mix at about 15% +/ - depending on how I feel. It gives it just a little depth and I really like that sound personally.
Members guit30 Posted August 23, 2006 Members Posted August 23, 2006 I heard the Duhks new disc and love the acoustic sound, real mellow and soft, EQ? compression?
Members guitarist21 Posted August 24, 2006 Members Posted August 24, 2006 When I'm playing solo, I don't use any effects. When I'm with my band, I just use my electric pedalboard to get some occasional distortion or chorus or something. Mainly comes from a Boss D-1 Distortion, an old Phaser I found in a garage, a Roland GR-20 (great reverb, surprisingly), and a Digitech RP-200. Ellen
Members Blackwatch Posted August 24, 2006 Members Posted August 24, 2006 I use only a slight amount of reverb. Same here. Just enough to fill out the sound.
Members d28andm1911a1 Posted August 24, 2006 Members Posted August 24, 2006 No effects acoustic guitar
Members Terry Allan Hall Posted August 24, 2006 Members Posted August 24, 2006 Solo - guitar -> Baggs PADI -> just the reverb in my PA system Trio - guitar -> Baggs PADI -> Dano auto-wah -> Boss HM-2 -> Boss Super Phaser -> older Boss phaser -> Boss flanger -> Dano chorus -> Dano digital delay-> Boss harmonizer...try to only use each effect/group of effects once per gig, so mostly I get a fairly nice "acoustic" signal. But some tunes do get pretty "out there"...just another set of colors from my pallete.
Members Kap'n Posted August 24, 2006 Members Posted August 24, 2006 Just say no to chorus on acoustic.
Members GUITKRAZY Posted August 24, 2006 Author Members Posted August 24, 2006 Yeah, truthfully given the fact that I am predominantly a band/ electric performer- when I play acoustic (through a pa head) you are playing "naked" I do use the reverb on the pa head, but I really don't want to color the great sound that I have already- but a little candy I guess cant hurt!
Members Steverino Posted August 24, 2006 Members Posted August 24, 2006 guitar -> tuner ->Baggs PADI -> reverb in the PA I've been thinking about a compressor though.
Members guit30 Posted August 24, 2006 Members Posted August 24, 2006 I've been thinking about a compressor too, but they really suck the tone out of your guitar, then you add gain to get the volume back up, it can make some interesting sounds, thinking about just sticking with my preamp or switching it off to a MXR 6 band EQ, that also boosts signalJim
Members mloker Posted August 27, 2006 Members Posted August 27, 2006 I use my podXT live, tubepreamp>light comp>little delay>very light reverb.
Members ESL94 Posted August 27, 2006 Members Posted August 27, 2006 I use my RP1 (lol... its old...but it works), when needed. Other than that play clean.
