Members KATMAN Posted September 9, 2006 Members Posted September 9, 2006 I have yet to find classical strings that last for quite a while. I don't play my classical that much so I think that the strings would look pretty new. But they don't.After about a month they start to look gunky. Is this the average for classical strings? I mean the guitar sounds good and all,but the strings look messed up.
Members riffmeister Posted September 9, 2006 Members Posted September 9, 2006 What are you using? You're are talking about the basses, right? Do they look corroded? I haven't had that problem with the strings I use the most......which are Savarez Corum Alliance and Corum Cristal, and Hannabach 815's.
Members KATMAN Posted September 9, 2006 Author Members Posted September 9, 2006 I had some GHS put on there. Guitar stores down here don't have a good variety of classical strings. I might try La'Bellas,I heard they're pretty good. Yes,I was talking about the bass strings.
Members Fatbaby Posted September 9, 2006 Members Posted September 9, 2006 I use dadarrio hard tension 'pro arte' classical strings. Everyone finds that the bass strings corrode. I leave the top three on for as long as I can and just replace the basses. That's why you can buy the strings in a nine string pack, you get two sets of basses. Personally though I don't really like really new shiny bass strings
