Members bossmare1 Posted September 9, 2006 Members Posted September 9, 2006 Awhile back I asked if anyone had heard of Mirage guitars.I bought one.Someone had gone to the website and said they looked interesting, and for me to let everyone know How it was since they are a newer name.I got my Mirage B6CE in a decent case.I Take guitar instruction(been playing for a few years a couple with lessons) My instructor is a 35 year guitar veteran with a masters degree in music. And fussy fussy fussy on what guitars are WORTHY to play.So a very good person to evaluate,if you really want to know what you have whether good or bad Here is his assessment. The guitar is well made. considerable thought and care went into building this guitar. It has nice wood, beautiful binding.(done the expensive way)The cutaway is very nicely done.He showed me where it was alot of work to do it the way it had been done. The neck is very nice, thin not a baseball bat, nice neck,Bracing is decent.has grover tuners.Good sound, and intonation.Very nice setup on it.Has a built in tuner and equalizer. He said most MSRP prices on guitars are not what you see them for in the store. The MSRP on this guitar was 1350.00 He said overall it was a very nice mid range guitar, and who ever designed it knew what they were doing, and did a nice job,and would have no problem walking into any music store and expect to easily see a 700 to 900.00 price tag on it,and not think it was out of line.Maybe a bit more depending on the store you wallked into.he said I quote"its not a Taylor or Olson, but you have your self a nice decent guitar, not bad at all.I paid 401.00 for this guitar with 25.00 for shipping. And for that price he says I got a really really good deal for all the pluses with it.The only thing I don't like about it are the strings, too rough.Im putting on some elixers.for the nice opinion he had,I think is really good.Because he can tell you the faults in anything thats under 2000.00.and he really did'nt have much bad to say about it. Also Blue book guitar says they only make 50 at a time, and only 500.00 in a series. So If anyone is looking for a decent guitar that wont cost you an arm and a leg.First check them out at miragegworks.com then look on ebay. They have just started selling them there.I got one of the first offered.I also have a Fender DG21 which I thought was decent. But I felt the difference 5 minutes into playing this one.Maybe in a few years these will cost a whole lot more.Look how seagull started.Well thats it hope it was'nt too long..Think I'll go play my mirage now,
