Members DonK Posted September 10, 2006 Members Posted September 10, 2006 Nice, but that cigarette drove me crazy. The whole time I was worried he was going to either burn himself or the guitar.
Members Ultimate Dave Posted September 10, 2006 Members Posted September 10, 2006 i enjoyed watching this version of freight train
Members BanjoKeith Posted September 10, 2006 Members Posted September 10, 2006 "I've Got the House to Myself" is one of the most amazing solo acoustic albums of all time ever.
Members min7b5 Posted September 11, 2006 Members Posted September 11, 2006 You absolutely have my vote ..though not based on anything on Youtube. f one was to explore his work on either of the Phillips, Grier, and Flinner disks, it would be abundantly clear that he is indeed the Shakespeare of the acoustic guitar.
Members Pablo Posted September 11, 2006 Members Posted September 11, 2006 I'm going to see him Saturday night, he's playing at the Rosendale Cafe (1 mile from my home). Here's a link:http://www.rosendalecafe.com/music.php
Members acwild Posted September 11, 2006 Members Posted September 11, 2006 That's pretty cool, but this is still my favorite.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPe3NsUJ54o

Asking a guitar player who the best guitar player is, is not a fair question. I would much rather be asked to compile a list of the top 100, but if I had to choose, I think he is the one that I would most like to sit in a room with and watch play.
Members dadgad7 Posted September 11, 2006 Members Posted September 11, 2006 I thought I was the best acoustic guitarist ??well, I am in MY living room!

Members dadgad7 Posted September 11, 2006 Members Posted September 11, 2006 OH......well in that case, I'll admit to not having seen the clip posted 'cuz my computer at work has no speakers.I'll answer on memory then.I really loved seeing Ed Gerhard, I've seen him live a few times, and actually did a weekend clinic with him. He's not just a fantastic player but a helluva guy with a great sense 'o humor too!He never seems to get mentioned here but he's phenominal.I suggest checking him out!Tony
