Members Ultimate Dave Posted September 11, 2006 Members Posted September 11, 2006 Im trying to fingerstyly arrange the tune "hallelujah i love her so", ray charles performance. Ive got every part of the tune, except for the intro piano part. This is concerning the first 2 measures (well 4 when he repeats it) ray charles plays this riff, that i just cant seem to break up and figure out... the tune is in the key of F, ive transposed it up a M3 to A for ease of play on the guitar. the chords of the intro following the riff in the recording go: | F D7 | G7 C7 | F F/A G#o7 Gm7 | F Db7 C7 | transposed looks like: | A F#7 | B7 E7 | A A/C# Co7 Bm7 | A F7 E7 |
Members brahmz118 Posted September 12, 2006 Members Posted September 12, 2006 Not sure exactly what you're asking? In F, I think the piano intro would be: | F/C | Dm | F/C | G7/D | In A: | A/E | F#m | A/E | B7/F# |
Members Burningleaves Posted September 12, 2006 Members Posted September 12, 2006 No clue...but I did score a Ray Charles reel to reel of "Modern Sounds in Country & Western Music" on the side of the road. Sounds too sweet.
Members Ultimate Dave Posted September 12, 2006 Author Members Posted September 12, 2006 what i meant is the little 2 chord riff at the beginning of the tune that ray charles does on piano, sounds like a truncated version of the melody to "mama told me there'd be days like this"
Members brahmz118 Posted September 12, 2006 Members Posted September 12, 2006 Sorry I'm being so dense -- are you asking for the chords or do you want to play the melody and chords on guitar? Do the chords I suggested sound right or close?
Members Ultimate Dave Posted September 12, 2006 Author Members Posted September 12, 2006 i mean the melody and chords those chords sound correct
