Members Cldplytkmn Posted October 4, 2006 Members Posted October 4, 2006 haven't seen many off topic threads in a while so i thought i'd throw one in... well my soldier girlfriend is still training in texas (fort hood) preparing to deploy to iraq in early november... things are good and i just wanted to share some good news with you guys cause i haven't talked much about whats going on... she's coming up here for one more 4 day pass, and while she's up here, we're getting married... we're both excited and ready to do this, so it seemed stupid to wait until she gets back in a year or so... you guys are like extended family, so i thought you should know

Members Freeman Keller Posted October 4, 2006 Members Posted October 4, 2006 That is wonderful news and congratulations. May her tour be short and may she return safely to you.
Members allthumz Posted October 4, 2006 Members Posted October 4, 2006 Congratulations. Sounds like you are using your head to guide your heart. Nothing could be better. With the right partner, obstacles are easier to deal with. Every day is a new adventure. - Robert

Members Dave W. Posted October 4, 2006 Members Posted October 4, 2006 Congrats Cldp, Life with the right woman is indeed a good thing, it is a much easier world with a partner on your side. Use the four days wisely, it's a long year. Dave
Members Greymuzzle Posted October 4, 2006 Members Posted October 4, 2006 I'm a really young guy still, , and it's only that I was Child Groom, as opposed the more oft remarked upon Child Bride, that results in me having my 32nd anniversary next week The very best I can wish for is that the pair of you are as happy as we have been and continue to be. Don't let any one suck you into the machismo BS that you've thrown away your freedom - just think of it as a relationship with a very special guitar, spend a lot time close, enjoy the curves and practise regularly;)
Members knockwood Posted October 4, 2006 Members Posted October 4, 2006 Wow. Talk about supporting our troops... Congratulations!
Members Tony Burns Posted October 4, 2006 Members Posted October 4, 2006 I am very happy for you , may you have a lifetime of happiness together --

Members Cldplytkmn Posted October 4, 2006 Author Members Posted October 4, 2006 yeah and no worries guys... she's very supportive of my music addiction... i mean aspirations... she says she's buying me a guitar when she gets back... to make up for this ring i'm trying to pay off...
Members Sweb Posted October 4, 2006 Members Posted October 4, 2006 I can only echo the rest of this bunch. 21 years married with a previous 3 together. Heck, I sold the 2nd love of my life (18 foot Hobie Cat) to get her ring but nothing has changed a bit. She's now the wind in my sails. Congratulations.

Members kwakatak Posted October 4, 2006 Members Posted October 4, 2006 I'm kind of late to this thread myself as I had some life issues of my own (that I won't go into in this thread so as to not steal your thunder) but I couldn't be happier for you. Congratulations!
