Any way to use standard strap buttons in place of plastic end pin?

My washburn D10SCE has the big plastic end pin in it. I want to replace that with a schaller strap lock button so I can use my normal strap setups with it. Does anyone sell an adapter? Any way to do it without permanently messing up the guitar?

Go to a music store and buy a wooden strap pin that fits well (most are rosewood, but occ. you find ebony...either is fine)...cut off the protruding part, so that it fits flush but tightly...drill guide hole for Schaller strap lock button...glue "plug" in place with wood glue.

 

If you're not sure you can do this safely, any repairman can knock this job out for next to nothing...likely under $25 (the few times I've done it, I charged $15, I think).
