Members carguy Posted October 13, 2006 Members Posted October 13, 2006 Bought a John Fogerty DVD at Walmart the other day. It's called The Long Road Home. Looks like it was recorded last year. A couple of observations: John still looks terrific. He must be close to 60. The DVD is a guitar players delight. He uses a mix of several Les Pauls, a Fender Telecaster, and Taylor acoustics. It's fun to watch what he can do with these guitars. The old rock and roll songs from the Credence Clearwater Revival days still sound good.
Members DonK Posted October 13, 2006 Members Posted October 13, 2006 He was on Jay Lenno a few months ago, and as you mention, he looks surprisingly young. He really tore it up, and his new stuff didn't sound like a self-parody of his old stuff, as is so often the case with aging rockers (like the Stones!).
Members valleyguy Posted October 13, 2006 Members Posted October 13, 2006 I saw him in concert at the Greek couple months ago and I was pretty close. He looks good from a distance, but close up you can see he's had work done on his face, the word streeeeeeeeeeeeetch comes to mind. And, is that really his hair and is it its natural color. All those aging rock stars are trying to hold on to their youth. Put on a great show, though.
Members recordingtrack1 Posted October 14, 2006 Members Posted October 14, 2006 I saw his Austin City Limits performance a couple of years ago and have seen it in re-run once. It is a great show. He is an exceptional performer. Still uses, among others, an old padded Kustom Amp. The thing looks really "60's" RT1:cool:
Members HOOMER Posted October 15, 2006 Members Posted October 15, 2006 he is a legend because he is a legend....whats wrong w/that/
Members Tony Burns Posted October 16, 2006 Members Posted October 16, 2006 John is possibly one of the most talented people alive.
