Members Zeptallica13 Posted October 16, 2006 Members Posted October 16, 2006 Its an AJ-500RE off Musiciansfriend, thing is, I havent ever heard or played one in real life so I'm a little scared. You guys seemed to really like em around here, and I have heard nothing but good things about about them. What do you guy think? Is there somthing better for the price? ($750)
Members guitarist21 Posted October 17, 2006 Members Posted October 17, 2006 As much as I love Masterbilts, as all of my past 948256 posts have indicated, I really encourage you, if there's any way, to play before you buy. If there's no way, you should just go for it. Masterbilts are great! Ellen

($750) They make some awesome guitars for the money. Musicians Friend has a great return policy. You can buy it without any fears. If you don't like it, ship it back.
Members Cldplytkmn Posted October 17, 2006 Members Posted October 17, 2006 i'd have no qualms about ordering from MF, like hud said they have a good return policy... i'd probably skip the E version though and add electronics my own... save a hundred bucks up front... but i don't think you can go wrong
Members TheSkyIsCrying Posted October 17, 2006 Members Posted October 17, 2006 Last week I spent 3 hours in GC trying out all the acoustics they had. After the frist trip I had it narrowed down to Martin 15, 16, or Road series, Epi Masterbilt, and Breedlove. I chose these because of the tone of the guitar. My second trip I looked at playability. The Martin and the Breedlove won out. For me the Epi was not as playable as the other 2. I bought a 1 yr old, pristine, Martin DR on ebay yesterday for $510 (GC had it for $950 new). I went with the Martin for re-sale is I ever want to upgrade. I guess what I'm trying to tell you is that you need to play guitars and decide which one is for you. Best of luck! Jimmy

I bought my Masterbilt because the neck was very comfy and playable for me, plus it was well set up right out of the box. I agree with everyone about Musicians Friend- they're great to buy from. But some people like this guitar and some people like that guitar. If you can, check out an Epi Masterbilt at a store someplace. If not, MF does have a great return policy if you don't like the guitar. Ellen

Members Kalebmation Posted October 18, 2006 Members Posted October 18, 2006 I absolutely love mine. Awesome fretwork and neck. Simply gorgeous sounding with D'Addario EXP 12's.
