Members prochembr0 Posted October 22, 2006 Members Posted October 22, 2006 I'm looking for a nice guitar that is suited for modern alternative rock acoustic sounds. I'd like it to be mellow, not bright.
Members Rada Posted October 22, 2006 Members Posted October 22, 2006 Save up some extra cash and get a Seagull M6 CedarCedar top + Mahogany back and sides = Mellow
Members recordingtrack1 Posted October 22, 2006 Members Posted October 22, 2006 Hi Rada +1 on the Cedar plus hog = mellow, thing. RT:cool:
Members guitarist21 Posted October 22, 2006 Members Posted October 22, 2006 Seagull is a good move, as is Washburn. Ellen
Members Modern Lover Posted October 22, 2006 Members Posted October 22, 2006 I'm whoring this model but I just got an Alvarez RD8. I read every review I could find on it before I purchased it. It's 220$ on Musiciansfriend.com and it comes with a locking hard shell case. If you use at 2mm pick or fingers it's very mellow and warm.Alvarez RD8

Alternative rock acoustic sounds?Fender Sonoran - I {censored} you not. It's THE best guitar for alt. rock. It records like a dream and sounds absolutely killer behind distorted guitar. Everything else just sounds too pretty. I'm an alt. rocker myself...when we were recording our EP, we had a few acoustics at our disposal, including my art & lutherie wild cherry... it sounds beautiful, but then my drummer showed up one day with this Fender Sonoran he pulled out of his closet and we decided to give it a whirl with recording. I didn't even look at my Art&Lutherie the rest of the session. It may sound dry on it's own - but you put a mic in front of it and it shines.
