I stumbled onto

http://www.edromanguitars.com

and will be going to Vegas in January. Anyone been to his "World's Largest Guitar Store" there and what did you think? He's got quite an opinion on many topics at his website.

Got to brag a bit... We had our annual Gryehound Rescue group's picnic this past Saturday in Dallas in an airplane hanger. About 200 attended. My wife has been trying to get me to play for sometime but I didn't want to be "The Entertainment". But I had an idea... "Busking for Greyhounds". I set up in a corner and played for almost two hours with my guitar case open for donations. Ended up being "The Entertainment" anyway. Everyone enjoyed it and the money I earned went to the dogs. The group president was estatic because for the last fund raiser, she hired a "pro" for $300. Said she liked my stuff better and I made the group money. Asked me to do it again next year.

Go to the HC Electric Guitar forum and type in Ed Roman in the search and see how much this guy is loved.

I know Ed Roman gets alot of negative comments but in a situation similar to yours, I had a really nice experience. About 5 years ago we were in Vegas with a whole group of people. I'm NOT a Vegas person. Looked around just for things to do to kill time, saw Roman's yellow pages ad, world's largest guitar store & all that, so I took a cab over. No intention of buying a guitar, I just wanted to play for a while. Spoke to the sales guy for a couple minutes, he took me to the high end acoustic room, showed me some nice guitars and listened to me play them for about 10 minutes. I may have suggested that I was considering buying one as a gift for one of the people in our group. Actually no doubt about that. Then he left me completely alone for about an hour and a half. Played somed Larrys, Tacomas, a Martin, a Rainsong and some other things I don't remember. NO sales pressure, they just looked in every 15 minutes or so to see if I wanted anything. Even brought me a soda and a tuner. Then I used their phone to call another cab & off I went. For my purpose at the time, I couldn't have asked for better.

Thanks. That's what I was looking for. His webiste kind of implied you couldn't play the guitars and if that was the case I wouldn't even bother. I'm in the market for a Jumbo and want to try a bunch out side by side and kill some time while the wife hits the slots.
