Members ignorant bliss Posted November 1, 2006 Members Posted November 1, 2006 Hi there, first post here, hope you people can help. I just bought a gibson classical guitar - described as a 'circa '68 C-1', and i wonder if anyone can help date it with more accuracy. The guitar has the 'Gibson' logo on the headstock, but no sticker in the soundhole, and no serial number. There is no binding around the guitar and a simple 1mm black circle around the sound hole. The bridge has a patterned inlay. there is also a large fret just after the nut if this helps. i could take a pic if anyone thinks it would help any advice on how to find out some history for this guitar would be great cheers

Members Stackabones Posted November 2, 2006 Members Posted November 2, 2006 ignorant bliss, the Blue Book says that serial nos. 540796-545009 were made in 1969. Over 14,000 of the C-1 series were made 1957-1971. That large fret after the nut is probably the zero fret. I've played an Gibby like that one with the same thing. Love to see some pics!!!
