Weissenborn type guitars are incredibly rich sounding. and that's a beauty!

Yeah, almost :(

The wood is Tasmanian Blackwood with Fiddleback Tasmanian Blackwood top. A close relative of Koa.

I'm going to have a lot of fun with this. :)

What tuning will you be using for it?

Hey Terry,

I'm getting myself grounded in DADF#AD at present - but I just love fooling around with alternate tunings. DADF#AC# sounds pretty cool too.

We play instruments and all we ever seem to post is pictures - a pet peeve of mine too FK! ;)

The best I can do so far is this recording made by the luthier himself. (He's also a pretty fair player too!)

Is it hollow all the way through, lengthwise to the head?

Don't know exactly what he constructs the fretboard from JT - not a huge issue as it's only there for reference, you never actually touch it.

Yep - hollow neck.

Bill, thanks for posting that - lovely to hear as well as look at. I can see you sittin' there playing a little Steel Guitar Rag or Poor Boy... I've always loved Kelly Joe Phelps' lap slide playing (in fact I have his dvd to try to learn some of his stuff) - that would sound good on your new baby too.

Yeah, I have that same DVD - he almost drives me crazy the way he mumbles and waffles throughout - it's not long before I'm screaming at the TV "Get to the point God damn it!!!"....but a fine player nonetheless. :D

Being Australian my chief lap slide influence is (of course) Jeff Lang.
