Members Whalebot Posted November 29, 2006 Members Posted November 29, 2006 It's my one year anniversary here. I still don't know what the hell I'm talking about.
Members kwakatak Posted November 29, 2006 Members Posted November 29, 2006 Happy Anni-, man! I've been here for three and feel like I just regurgitate what I ws told when I was a newbie.
Members Fireproof Posted November 29, 2006 Members Posted November 29, 2006 Aww, I missed mine. Oh well. Congrats on yours!!
Members Queequeg Posted November 29, 2006 Members Posted November 29, 2006 Avast! Tip o' the hat to ya, Whale. here's to a year of enjoying your thought-provoking posts. And many more, Matey! Thar she blows!
Members d03nut Posted November 30, 2006 Members Posted November 30, 2006 It seems to me longer than that. Ah well, time flies when you're.....scratch that, here's another favorite of mine -by I don't remember who: I thought I was killing time but time was killing me... Now that's a downer. "Downer's" suck. Speech, speech, speech......

Members Hudman Posted November 30, 2006 Members Posted November 30, 2006 Congrats Whalebot! It's my 1 year anniversary under this handle. I have almost an another full year under my old handle (I lost the password).
Members Chirpy_72 Posted November 30, 2006 Members Posted November 30, 2006 At the one-year mark it's customary to take you out back, behind the shed, and make you a man. Not that there's anything wrong with that ....
Members Whalebot Posted November 30, 2006 Author Members Posted November 30, 2006 Thanks all, I like to think that I'm a lot wiser for soaking up all of this info from all of you guys. Nice people, good friends and an undying love for music. A year well spent.
Members bsman Posted November 30, 2006 Members Posted November 30, 2006 Congrats - as you can see, I am close to my seven year ani, but somehow, the system lost about 5,000 of my posts, so I'm not even a senior member right now. Oh, the indignity!
Members Freeman Keller Posted November 30, 2006 Members Posted November 30, 2006 I can't believe you've wasted a whole year farting around on this stupid forum when you should have been playing your guitar. Unless, of course, you are doing it at work like I am. It's been fun getting to know you, 'bot

I have noticed many abbreviations in use the meanings of which I'm sure will be solved just by sticking around. The last bit of this quote implies a guitar give-away. Before I ask let me say that I don't need/want any guitars. So, what's with putting a guitar on a doorstep? Member (IKFC) charity drive/raffle?

Kwak talked non stop about a Larrivee OM-03R he was GAS'ing for. Since he is a nice guy, Knockwood and JT decided to take up a collection to buy it for him as a surprise. I volunteered to be the money man and the deal maker. Jason, the owner of Notable Guitars (www.notableguitars.com) hooked us up with a killer deal. 18 forum members (9 from here and 9 from APM) donated between $25.00 and $100.00 each. Two weeks later FedEx dropped a brand new Larrivee OM-03R at Kwak's house. The forum members involved all have the IKFC in their signatures.....
Members kwakatak Posted December 1, 2006 Members Posted December 1, 2006 Sometimes I think they did it just to shut me up!

Explains the "*whistles innocently*" but not the abbreviation - IKFC - which I'll guess to be something like Int'l Kwak Fan Club? Or, maybe Interforum Kwak Fan Club? You guys just up and bought him a guitar. That's pretty cool. I'll have to visit Notable Guitars, too.

I like a cutaway though and their guits come with that external control panel. I don't know if they make them without the onboards in a cutaway. Nice guitars though.
