Members guit30 Posted December 4, 2006 Members Posted December 4, 2006 I can't believe that a 75 year old friend of mine who has been playing guitar his whole life fell for this, he says it is great. http://www.hsn.com/cnt/prod/default.aspx?pfid=188017&club_id=188017&sz=16&sf=M00002&rdr=1&cm_mmc=ShoppingEngine*Froogle*m00002*188017
Members bbarkow Posted December 4, 2006 Members Posted December 4, 2006 Wow. That is just cheesy beyond description. But hell... he's 75 and he likes it. He's earned the right to buy whatever he wants. My dad's 74 and he'd still wear one of those fake fur fedoras with ear flaps if my mom would let him.
Members Jacktheshrubber Posted December 4, 2006 Members Posted December 4, 2006 What, you dont just adore that sparkling blue finish? I hear it adds alot of tonal quality!
Members guit30 Posted December 4, 2006 Author Members Posted December 4, 2006 Well, this guy has 2 fender acoustics, one is an older one with built in electronics. He is an awesome fiddle player and has a $440 German fiddle, plus he has an American Tele with a Roland Synth on it. Wait til the pickguard falls off, he did have to send the amp back, it didn't work, imagine?!? JIm
Members AK47 Posted December 4, 2006 Members Posted December 4, 2006 They say at 75 your eyesight is failing along with your hearing. Truth is if he likes it more power to him. I wish I could find a guitar in that price range I loved.
Members steve_man Posted December 4, 2006 Members Posted December 4, 2006 Well, one of my students in my youth group brought in an Esteban the other night for me to check out. It was by no means a great guitar, but not a bad beat around guitar. Of course the pearl inlay is fake, but it did not play half bad, especially considering the price tag. This kid was happy with it, and isn't that what matters?

Just a reminder guys- The holiday season is upon us, and I've been good all year.OK, I was pretty good most of the year.Alright, there have been years that weren't all bad; but I digress...The Esteban Starlight and the fake fur fedora with ear flaps are both on my list now.
