Members Greymuzzle Posted December 6, 2006 Members Posted December 6, 2006 I went to see Tommy Emmanuel last night. Gig was opened by an 18 year old kid from South Wales. His playing was absolutely stunning. I don't think he did TE any favours by having to follow him, then at the end he came out again and duetted-best part of thegig. TE plays fast, yes, but this kid plays with real velocity and delivers a kind of kinetic energy that knocks you about in your musical seat. Played Kottke's Blue Dot as his 2nd offering. Brilliantly and I was really impressed. Then he moved on and I realised that was just a warm up finger exercise. If you ever see the the name Gareth Pearson I so so recommend, good people , that you go and see him. We'll just have to live with the fact that he's Welsh, he does, bless him.

Members zb0430 Posted December 8, 2006 Members Posted December 8, 2006 To bring up a debate froma few days ago... Anyone notice that he uses his pinky as an anchor? And, on topic, yes he's very good, ad I'd bet that video didn't do him very much justice...
