Tell me about bone/ ivory picks.

I've used brass and like the warm tone.

Well, you can't get much further away from brass than ivory. Ivory picks are warm and loud; the Wegen picks sound a lot like ivory. Bone picks are a bit brighter.

A buddy of mine makes picks out of steer horns, which he gets a lot of, due to working in a slaughterhouse...great picks!

I've also owned a few made from agate (great sounding, but don't drop one on a concrete floor! ), elk teeth (pretty cool, but hard to get), and coconut shell (didn't care for it much).

Might have to try an ivory pick someday!

Brass has a nice warm round tone.

I ordered some mammoth ivory blanks to make picks.
