Members compsonheir Posted November 2, 2006 Members Posted November 2, 2006 i think i'm losing my mind here. there's a part i'm trying to play in Barrios's "Invocacion a mi Madre" (he took "A mi Madre" and cut it down so it would fit on a '78) where i can't avoid relying on my double-jointedness and bending my knuckle backwards because the figure is right up near where the neck meets the body. it's painful to play this bit and i'd like it not to be. any sage advice would not be appreciated. i attached a jpeg of the section.
Members riffmeister Posted December 22, 2006 Members Posted December 22, 2006 the only thing I could think of is to play the first four notes as eighth notes (don't hold the first G for its full value) using left hand fingers 1-4-1-4then for the next four note phrase use eight notes for the first two (again, not holding the first E for the full value) using fingers 2-4 and then play the next two notes as harmonics at the twelfth fret with either the first or second finger.the next four note phrase then goes way up the fretboard as the A7+5 chord shape on strings 5/4/3/1 and the final four not phrase goes to the Dmajor chord at the tenth fret.Gotta love that Barrios!!!!!
