Members Rada Posted December 29, 2006 Members Posted December 29, 2006 2007 (!) Art & Lutherie Ami Cedar It is so.....Joan Baez...and that is what I am calling her....Joan Here are some REALLY crappy pics I took with me cell....I can not find my camera anywhere Oh well....the neck is great...it sounds so much louder than it looks....that nice crisp, articulate yet warm sound that only Godin cedar can produce I'm a pretty agressive strummer and it can more than take my beatings which is leaving me pretty speechless....it sounds great when I play fingerstyle too obviously.... I love how comfortable it is....and the finish is lovely, and they are using a french polish over the guitars now so the cedar does not scratch so easily....I will get some better photos as soon as I can $200 out the door including the gig bag....more than worth it IMO!
Members Freeman Keller Posted December 29, 2006 Members Posted December 29, 2006 What a lovely little thing. Rada, ya done good. and fwiw, I've always loved Joan, her music, her guts, what she stood for (I'm donning flameproof underwear). When I was in college in about 1966 or 7 someone said "hey, there's some folkie down at the student union singing protest songs, lets go check it out". There she was, in a peasant dress, sitting crosslegged on a stool, open guitar case at her feet with some coins and bills in it. I'm afraid I sat in the front row thru her entire show (and obviously remember it fourty years later). I hope your new Joan makes as wonderful music for you, Rada.
Members babablowfish Posted December 29, 2006 Members Posted December 29, 2006 Hey Rada, Congratulations. I've played those A&L Cedars and they are so warm! The necks are really comfortable too. Great little guitar - at any price. Enjoy!

Members Roy Brooks Posted December 29, 2006 Members Posted December 29, 2006 I actually have an AMI parlor guitar. Though mine is the spruce model. I am very pleased with it. It is one of the few new guitars that actually sounds like back in the day, dogg.
Members Whalebot Posted December 29, 2006 Members Posted December 29, 2006 I had one of those, nice little blues box. Watch the tuners, they aren't that great.

They're better than they used to be...much better....it's one of the things I loved about it I remember trying one...a natural finish one a few years ago and thinking the same thing, but these ones are pretty damn good for the price
Members knockwood Posted December 29, 2006 Members Posted December 29, 2006 Ilikeit. Congrats! Are you a lefty (FREAK!)? or is that just some weird mirror-image photography thing happening?

Members zb0430 Posted December 29, 2006 Members Posted December 29, 2006 The next post on the thread reads something like this... "I knew a lefty once... Then he got eaten by a lion..."

"... in the subway..." That's a sweet looking guitar. If you get a chance, post a sound clip. I'm very interested to hear how it sounds. Ellen

Freeman, that lady can sing, I don't care about the politics and the rest. I have never seen her live, so I can only imagine. I think the first thing I ever heard her sing was "Joe Hill", and it just floored me, probably 1970 or so.
Members AK47 Posted December 30, 2006 Members Posted December 30, 2006 Nice guitar. My wife bought one for me about 4 years ago for a travel guitar. Good Wife:D

Members guitarist21 Posted December 30, 2006 Members Posted December 30, 2006 Satin finish? That's like my favorite. Ellen
Members Rada Posted December 30, 2006 Author Members Posted December 30, 2006 Originally posted by guitarist21 Satin finish? That's like my favorite.Ellen It has a "French Polish" which makes it a little harder to scratch, but doesn't affect the tone
