A very loose sloppy rendition. I am not used to fingerstyle playing and usually play this with a flatpick but thought I would give it a try fingerstyle. Excuse the stumbles. I do not know the lyrics and am making up what I remeber as I go. Not meant to be an authentic cover, more like an exercise in fingerstyle for me.

Good job!

I noticed that it gets smoother and clearer as you go along. I suspect another take would have come out even better. The playing was still pretty good, especially considering that you chose to sing along to it! :thu:

It certainly is a fun song to play around with. I used to play this one pretty regularly when I was much younger and always had trouble going along without my hand cramping up. One thing that attracted me to it was Page's use of melody in the form of the descending bass line and the upper melody as well with the -sus and -add chords.

Thanks Guys, Actually I practiced playing and singing this song again last night and I could not get the part of the lyric where he repeats babe over and over to sync up with my playing!

I got lucky on that first take. I think the key is that I wasn't thinking about it too much it was just instinct. When I turn the camera on I go into another world almost and get lost in the song. I hear it in my head as I play it. That video is the first time I have ever sung that song.

i think its cool you went back in time to the fifties and recorded it then.

love,

eor

this is the first song eor ever learned. i played it better then than i do now. so sad. on the f chord, eor uses his thumb instead of the bar. easier. we also play the parts inbetween verses completely differently :)

ps- you are also a "finger pick" strummer, wherein you form a pick with your finger to strum. eor never got that. mystifying.
