I'm writing a new song for the HGAC album and guess what? It would sound kick ass...on an electric. Oh well. That Tele I want is a way off so I'll record it acoustic for now. Funny thing is, my friend is loaning me his VOX amp when I get my new house. I can always run my OM with the K&K through with some distortion:D So Hud goes acoustic and Whalebot wants to go electric, what's this forum coming to!?

Sounds to me like you need that tele, Whalebot!

That's exactly why I don't get rid of anything on either the electric or the acoustic side. Every few years I dust one of them off and I'm good to go! :thu:

Yeah, I had a great Strat about three years ago that I just wasn't playing so I couldn't justify keeping it, it financed part of my OM-21. Oh well.

I wasn't crazy about the clean settings on the Vox. It would not be my choice for an acoustic amp.

The Roland Cube series does a better job with the clean stuff. You can get that cool, clean jazz tone with the Cube (and yes, I owned one of those too: a Cube 30 to be exact). Musicians Friend has the Cube 30 marked down to $149. I paid $225 for the one I owned.

That's the way of it. I'm tired of wrangling electric blues on these acoustics. The song I want to do can be cheesed out on acoustic but my gimme-a-break factor is being tested to the limit.

Well, now - you guys are making me think that it's actually okay for an acoustic player to muck around with distortion and whammy bars! :freak:

Hey, I'm no different. I've been mucking around with my electric rig and trying to get a tone that doesn't make my hair stand on end (in a bad way) or develop a touch on that fretboard that doesn't piss me off when I accidently hit an extra string. I have nothing in the works though, I'm just trying to figure out how to play tastefully. :o

Its sentiments like that that make me put them on my acoustic songs anyway. Sometimes it sounds out of place and sometimes it doesn't, but I always feel like its worth a try.

If it doesn't work and the song is still begging for a ripping electric solo, I usually re-record the song with drums and stuff.

I dunno Whale. Newcomer and all that. Play your 12 or 16 bar progression with acoustic guitars. Nothing says you cant have more than one track, does it? What are the rules anyway. Other than old regulars that is. So you've got a lead track, not too out front ya know? Electric. I got this wierd little Hofner travel guitar I'll loan you. It's got one humbucker and sharp frets but would work as long as your expectations aren't too high. Surely if a recorder is allowed y'all could slip in a little lectric guitar. Hell, I even got a Epiphone Valve Junior that could use a long road trip. I dunno. There are options other than that new tele yer gassin for.

Whatever.
