Members howlinbob13 Posted January 29, 2007 Members Posted January 29, 2007 Up for sale because I found the old Duolian I'd been looking for and can't afford two Nationals (sigh) is the new 14-fret Style O I just bought from vintagenationals.com that is indeed, "Shining like a National guitar." Price is $2,500, including shipping, which is about $300 lower than anywhere else this can be found new. In true National Reso-Phonic style, the 14 fret Style O is a beautifully built machine. From the vintage slotted headstock to the chicken-foot cover plate and on to the recurved back, they have covered all the bases in this instrument's design. The 3-piece nickel plated brass body is etched identically to the instruments built in the 1930's, but they've taken it one step further in including palm-tree designs on the sides as well. The maple neck features a 2 tone sunburst finish, and a slotted headstock just like on the originals - even the National headstock logo is right! The main difference between old and new is that the modern 14 fretter has an adjustable truss-rodded neck, radiused ebony fingerboard, and a coverplate palm rest that is removable for easy action adjustments; three features that you, as a player, will certainly come to appreciate on first play and over the years to come. A great sounding, playing, and looking resonator. This guitar will only go up in value over the years and give you great pleasure while you have it. Comes with new HSC and all the eye candy -- decals, unregistered warranty card from a verified seller, etc. This is brand new, with no marks and virtually no playing. The only change made was to put John Pearse strings on it because they sound better. Email for photos, details, etc. Cashier's checks, money orders, personal checks are fine, but have to clear first. Paypal is also fine, but must split fees on this item. Email: howlin.bob@comcast.net or call days at 503-220-2388.
