Members jerime Posted February 3, 2007 Members Posted February 3, 2007 I bought a Oscar Schmidt 3/4 size classical about a month ago to see if I even liked it (I've been playing steel string acoustics for over 10 years now). I don't really know anything about classical guitars, other than I like them after having a cheapy for a month now. Where do I start? I don't want to spend too much money, but would like something decent and full size. What's the deal with all the 3/4 size classicals? Also why do classical seem to be so expensive compared to regular steel string acoustics?
Members BoyoMcLadd Posted February 4, 2007 Members Posted February 4, 2007 Where to start?Play a bunch of classicals and see what tou like.If you dont want to spend too much but want something decent and full size , I recommend the Yamaha cg111s(solid spruce top) or cg111c(solid cedar top) for about 200.I havent noticed classicals costing more than steel strings.Maybe you saw some high end classicals.Entry level is comparable.

Members Phlat Phive Posted February 5, 2007 Members Posted February 5, 2007 What's the deal with all the 3/4 size classicals? I think 3/4 classicals are made for children. A cheap 3/4 classical was the first guitar I ever played, btw.
