Members Stratosteam Posted February 9, 2007 Members Posted February 9, 2007 I believe in fate, having had the misfortune, or good fortune to be on the receiving end more than once. This time, it was definitely good fortune. I have been a big Byrds and Roger McGuinn fan since the early 60's; yeah, I'm that old. I bought a Rickenbacker 370/12 RM (McGuinn signature edition) new in 1989. I read about Roger's new Martin HD-7 with a great deal of interest when it came out in 2005. With a list price of $5,500 I knew it was just a pipe dream. I have been checking online and watching eBay for quite a while, and never saw one that looked affordable, until last week. I went out to the forums here and searched under HD-7. I didn't find a lot, but I did see a post from a forum member, and his signature showed his HD-7 as being for sale. I sent him a message, he replied, and he was coming to my area on business and was going to be within 30 miles of my house this week. We made arrangements and well, to make this story short, we met, the guitar was great, and Ray is a super nice guy. I bought his guitar, and we celebrated with a beer, that he brought! That's what I mean about fate; thanks to Harmony Central, and a great forum member here, I now have a wonderful guitar that I have dreamed about for two years. Do you believe in fate?
Members Freeman Keller Posted February 9, 2007 Members Posted February 9, 2007 Cool story for both you and Ray. And, yeah, I do and I've been blessed by good fate, including my short time at HGAC.
