Members Cripes Posted February 15, 2007 Members Posted February 15, 2007 Stay the course. My 13 y/o is now scoring his own compositions. Just get him the tools when he's ready.

We just recently found out another one is on the way; so hopefully have a mean 3-piece some day! Scoring his own compositions eh? Well hopefully it's a good sign that my son claps his hands to Townes Van Zandt and started crying when my wife put in a Justin Timberlake cd.

Members kenadyan Posted February 15, 2007 Members Posted February 15, 2007 Awesome pic, bigby!! My 16 month old by-passes her drums and tries to grab the strings on my guitars, so I'm not sure if she is trying to tell me something. We too have a second one on the way. Thanks for sharing.
Members Freeman Keller Posted February 15, 2007 Members Posted February 15, 2007 Awesome pic, bigby!!We too have a second one on the way. And you and Bigby aren't even snowed in.
Members bigby Posted February 15, 2007 Author Members Posted February 15, 2007 And you and Bigby aren't even snowed in. When I told my best friend that my wife was pregnant, AGAIN, he said "wait...you have a 10-month old at home; you and your wife are still having "private" time together?" Well, it just happened my birthday rolled around this past November...and married guys know what a birthday means.

The kid's obviously a musical genius! Get #2 a bass and you're set! BTW, this is where it can lead...the percussionist is my daughter, Kat
Members kenadyan Posted February 15, 2007 Members Posted February 15, 2007 Thanks Kenadyan. When's your second one due? End of July. I was surprised that the second one is arriving so fast. It took a while for my wife to get pregnant with our daughter. But as one of my friends told me, "You must have opened the floodgates with the first one."
Members bigby Posted February 15, 2007 Author Members Posted February 15, 2007 The kid's obviously a musical genius! Get #2 a bass and you're set! You know I started out on bass; but it'll be years before either could hold up my Stingray..that thing's a beast! I guess I need to go grab a wash bucket; mop handle and some fishin' line; you think Freeman could put together a nice redneck bass for me?

Same here, end of July/beginning of August; you'll have to keep me informed on her progress!

If Freeman whips it up, it'll be the best "redneck bass" ever! Better yet, Hofner now offers a Chinese-made "Beatle Bass"...very light and the one I played sounded pretty good...for about the price of a MIM P-bass!
