Members d03nut Posted February 16, 2007 Members Posted February 16, 2007 I'm sure some people are very organized and methodical -to the point of being "ritualistic"-in the way they "approach" their music (playing). While others might exhibit more spontaneity. Well, my "constant" is to procrastinate everything. You name it and I'll find another time for it. From changing strings to filling up my planet waves, everything can wait. I'll even go to sleep guitar in hand cause I just don't fe.....el lyyyyk get tin' up a n d ...... Damn. I'd been wanting to ask this question since last year.
Members Hudman Posted February 16, 2007 Members Posted February 16, 2007 I am constantly planning to work on a never ending list of songs. Of course, I constantly put it off until the next day or the next weekend.
Members carguy Posted February 16, 2007 Members Posted February 16, 2007 No. I have a really hard time sticking to anything. I flip-flop from electric to acoustic, and I like so many different styles of music (including even some rap) that I don't really get much accomplished. I've often said that nothing is what I do best.
Members MattSkibaIsGOD Posted February 16, 2007 Members Posted February 16, 2007 yeah boy, I have so much stuff swirling around my brain, it is a duanting task to try to put it on paper.

I have something that will offend and please everyone.
Members Cripes Posted February 16, 2007 Members Posted February 16, 2007 I've been meaning to call Callard & Browser and ask where they distribute their "Curiously Strong" licorice Altoids but other things get done first.
Members Jake7 Posted February 16, 2007 Members Posted February 16, 2007 I just wanna make music....but I hate when something happens and I don't have the technique to make the sound...sometimes it's a gear thing, sometimes a technique, but it seems I'm always seeking something!

Members Freeman Keller Posted February 16, 2007 Members Posted February 16, 2007 no MO no mojo, either
Members Michael Martin Posted February 16, 2007 Members Posted February 16, 2007 My MO: Play whenever possible. Practice the old stuff, work on learning the newly completed stuff, put spontaneous stuff on a bedside tape machine, go back and listen to the bedside tapes to pick out what should be developed further, write lyrics...my goal is one totally finished song per week that I can play at open mike along with two or three others that I've done before. I do as much of the above as possible every night. I'm a total fanatic about this stuff.

Members denvertrakker Posted February 17, 2007 Members Posted February 17, 2007 I've been meaning to join Procrastinators Anonymous, but I just can't seem to get around to it. Oh, wait - here's one:
Members Cripes Posted February 17, 2007 Members Posted February 17, 2007 That's a round-tuit. I used to have some stickers just like that. I had them made and handed them out whenever people working for me made excuses about not getting around to completing some aspects of their jobs. Same stunt was pulled on me years ago when I made the same excuses to my boss.

I have something that will offend and please everyone. Many years, ago my brother and I were in his truck listening to one of his homemade tapes. He had recorded Tupac Shakur followed by Sarah Vaughan! I was like ..... WTF! You can't do that! Trina
