Members kkyle Posted March 2, 2007 Members Posted March 2, 2007 I have a PA I bought for practice, Behringer power mixer PMH2000 with 250 watts a channel and two JBL JRX115 speaker cabs. Instead of buying an acoustic amp, it would be cheaper to use one cab and the mixer and a preamp like the Baggs or BBE. Question, can you use the DI from the preamp for a house PA and at the same time use the 1/4 out to the Behringer? I guess my stupid question is more succinctly, will both outputs work at the same time?

The Countryman DI and the Baggs PADI can both be used like this...I presume most, if not all, other DIs will, also.I often, particularily when having to work with over-enthusiastic drummers (see photo), run the hiZ out to an amp and the lo-Z to the mixer, simultaneously. The amp becomes my "guitar monitor". http://www.worth1000.com/entries/261500/261970HmOL_w.jpg
Members kkyle Posted March 3, 2007 Author Members Posted March 3, 2007 Thank you sir. That solves my problem. I was dragging my feet on a preamp and was going to get the Baggs for a few months. Now, I'm sorta leaning towards the BBE, never had my hands on one but it's getting some good ink. Going to an small acoustic amp for a monitor and DI out to a pa was the other choice.
