Members Freeman Keller Posted March 6, 2007 Members Posted March 6, 2007 Lets see, if I had invested $225 in the Stock Market in 1930 or bought an OM-45 which one would be the better investment for my retirement http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140093215301

Of course you know the answer! Anyway, that is a beautiful instrument. What strikes me most is its condition. Except for a little finish cracking and some wear on the fretboard it looks almost new. What do you see?

Might make it not such a good deal. I would like to see that in a re-issue; is that the Roy Rogers? I thought the RR was a Dread. I do like it a bunch.
Members missedmyexit Posted March 6, 2007 Members Posted March 6, 2007 Now do you think the person who drops 3Mill is going to play it? If not I don't see the point.. I guitar I am too afraid to play is worthless to me outside of the obvious investment/resale value.

Bethlehem Steel maybe not so good.
Members DenverDave Posted March 6, 2007 Members Posted March 6, 2007 That guitar is in really nice shape for a 70 + year old guitar, but I seriously doubt it will sell for that kind of money (...but I could be wrong...). AFAIK I've never seen a guitar sell for that kind of money - even one of a kind history makers like Clapton's Blackie (sold for just under 1 million). Actually - I just checked - the world record for a guitar sale is 2.6 Million and that was a pure charity donation rather than a 'value' guitar (tsunami donation).
