Members Tender Sitch Posted March 6, 2007 Members Posted March 6, 2007 I did a search for a question like this, but didn't find anything that was specific enough, so here's my two-bit question of the day: I have an acoustic guitar that was retrofitted with a Fishman pickup (the thinline type) around 10 years ago. There is no on-board preamp or anything. Just a 1/4" jack coming out of it. In live situations, I play my electric through a Vox VT30. I would like the option of having my acoustic laying around, too. So, my question is: Just plugging into the amp and having to turn up causes obvious feedback issues. Do I just need a simple DI box going into the amp for just the acoustic? And if so (which I believe is the case), any recommendations on ones to get? Thanks and Cheers.

If you're just going into the amp, itself, a pre-amp is all you need...if you'll be going into the PA, as well, get a pre-amped DI (the Baggs PADI is excellent). That being said, your Vox may not give you the sound you seek (or maybe it will), and you may need to use a Feedback Buster of some sort.A rubber one (goes in your guitar's soundhole)Fancier wood ones (I use these myself):
