Members tkris Posted March 16, 2007 Members Posted March 16, 2007 so i bought a used guitar -- a epiphone masterbilt ef-500m in sunburst -- on ebay. it shipped last friday from binghampton NY, where it was about 30 degrees, and should arrive tomorrow here in Oregon, where it was about 70 degrees today. my question is, do i need to let this thing sit in the box for a day to let it adjust to the warmer temperature and humidity, or just rip the box open and start playing (which i'm dying to do?)

I usually open the shipping box when it feels like it is close to room temperature. I open the case when it feels close to room temperature. You may not need to wait at all if it's still warm out. It can take 3 to 4 hours in cold weather.
