Two people walked into Henri's Music, in Appleton Wis, and stole a Martin D42FM, serial number 1136019. It is one of thirty made and has vine of life inlay on the fretboard, flame hog back and sides. Please call Henri's music 920 739 91633, ask for Gary, or Appleton police at 920 832 5506 with any information. Please post this on any other forums you are members of.

As I understand it, one guy distracted the salesman while the other guy snuck out w/ it...they were caught on video, but they were wearing dark glasses and it's hard to tell their features.

Guitar is worth somewhere around $10K.

I once owned a 1968 Fender Precision bass...very nice guitar. Anyway, was driving around in my jeep, went through a stoplight turning left and the sucker flew out of the back seat and into the intersection. I was stopped on the median to jump out and get it and a car going through the intersection drove by, open the door and snagged the bass right in front of my eyes. It was a dark, dark day for me.

Sad thing is, I guarentee the kids in the car had no idea of the value of the guitar and probably pawned it for 100 bucks.

Be interesting to see if the person they sell it to tries to register the warranty.

Maybe they just want to play the best?

PS I bet that salesman is feeling bad

Normally, the stores I go to, their nice guitars are hard to access.. etc

Now I know: never trust guys who wear sunglasses indoors!:freak:

damb shame.

I hope they get no pleasure from it.

I can not even see how a theft of a guitar could give good music to them.

I doubt if I see it down here in Ohio - but you never know.

I'd snitch them out in a heartbeat.

I doubt they stole a $10K guitar to play.

It was probably stolen "to order", and had a buyer before they ever whisked it out the door.

Well there are murderers and rapists... but who's counting?

That's true..and forgot politicians and lawyers. But often these are one in the same. :D

IT's not stealing unless there is a sign that says "you must pay for this before removing it from the store"

I cannot wait for the day when lawyers have made everything come with warning labels:thu:

Guitar thieves are like Horse thieves , when caught they should be immediately shot on the spot.

The yellow-haired lady was buried at sunset;

The stranger went free, of course.

For you can't hang a man for killin' a woman,

Who's tryin' to steal your horse.

What an incredible way to have a guitar stolen from you!

Well, maybe the thought of someone eventually finding this guitar and having an amazingly lot of fun with it is of some comfort. Maybe some youngster bought it from the pawn shop and now is marvelling about it.

not quite the same for me but i felt just as bad. i pawned two steinbergers (hard times) along with 3-4 other guitars on different tickets so they wouldn't all be due at once. i forgot the date and they came out of pawn and were set out for sale. i went in and found out i had lost them and decided to try and buy at least one of them back, but when they went to get it off the floor they couldn't find them. someone (or two people?) had walked out with them.
