I was curious what anyone knew about this guitar or how much it is worth nowadays. Thanks

All mahogany 000 right? Well, M-20's in Good/EC/Mint condition are going for $1200 to about $2200 on Ebay. The M-30's are rarer of the two. I think they all came out of the Hoboken NJ faciliates and where produced for about 5/7 years ...... late 50's to mid 60's.

Hans the Guild guru will know. M-30 wow. :)

Trina, thanks for the response. As soon as the admin clears me there I will post something. It's definitely from Hoboken, I suppose I could check the serial # to find the date. However, it's only in mid to fair condition, a previous owner must have used it as his work horse. The finish is coming off in parts and it could stand to be cleaned. The sound is sublime.

As rarer as that guitar is even mid to fair condition, it's still worth ... a lot. A M-30 came up for sale on Ebay about 7 years ago, I'm sorry I can't remember how much she went for. Can't wait to see your pics. Cheers.

I own what I believe to be one of the oldest playable Guilds. It is a 1953 m-30, serial #1105, near mint condition, made in Hoboken. I have owned it for 32 years. It is a slightly larger version of the m-20, otherwise exactly the same. I believe the m-30 was "auditorium size" vs. "concert size". It is by far the best sounding Guild that I have ever heard and it is perfect for a smaller person with small hands: small neck, 41mm nut. I think they were made only for a very short time, not even up to 1960. As for value, I don't know. If it plays well keep it because you will never find another like it. Even if the neck needs a reset it is worth it.

Welcome to the HC Dncr62. If you got a digital camara please, post a pic of your M-30. Cheers.
