Guitarist21's guess sounds right, I worked with a guy who had RifleAquisition Syndrome. He was always talking about WW1, WW2 rifles that he wanted, or just bought, or was about to buy. I told him he sounded like a guitar player and guitars.

I'll take another guess, since rifle was taken, and because I suspect plenty of people have experienced this type of RAS too:

Reefer Aquistion Syndrome. edit, not refer, reefer, sorry.

Raccoon?

Reminds me of a story. This is not thread theft, just carry on as usual. I'm just adding a little color here. Anyway, back when Saint Hazelwood ran the Exxon Valdez aground, the oil companies hired everybody in Alaska who could prove he was above room temperature to work on the spill. One of the things folks had to do was clean oil off of Sea Otters. Adult Sea Otters. Big, mean, well you get the picture. Anyway, on the radio when they found another hurtin' otter they would call them chainsaws so as not to alert the media. Story was that most the time the otter cleaning crew would take days just to catch one of the little bastards. But the worst part came when they actually caught one. Fur covered chainsaws they were called.

ok so i'm an easier read than i thought.

ellen is the winner, and i'm glad i offered no prize cause that went way too fast. Whalebot is the runner up for posting a picture that made me spit on my keyboard.

explaination. i'm in the process of pricing/shopping an evil black rifle. i've wanted one for a while, and my wife carrying one every day seems like a good enough reason. her dad and brother shoot them, so i've got the bonding excuse to fall back on.

anyways, carry on.

Which EBR? I got the bug for a while when I was in the service (although people from NYC are notoriously hideous marksmen). Not really much to do with a rifle in NYC (legally, anyway), so when I got home, I let it go... But maintained the interest and still read up now and then. Didn't you mention your old man is involved with firearms somehow?

I'd have never guessed a firearm. You just never can tell about folks...
If you're connected that way I inherited some old target pistols I have no use for and would like to sell, trade, raffle, anything but shoot. I'm a shooter but these are better off with someone who'd appreciate them.

my dad was air force... not really involved with firearms, but he's an extremely good/devoted whitetail hunter. Its funny, for a guy who is extraordinarily practical about shooting/hunting/guns, he somehow has acquired a pretty good stable of rifles even though he could meet his needs with just his TC encore and a shotgun.

eh, I'm looking at an AR... too many options/configurations to say right now which way i'll go.

depending on what you've got, there's a few good gun boards i'd point you to to get them in the hands of someone who would really appreciate them... not sure i would be worthy of anything badged as 'target'
