Members bigby Posted March 23, 2007 Members Posted March 23, 2007 One of the main things I enjoy about this forum is the helpfulness, sharing of information and support of fellow posters...well I guess that's 3 things! I want to specifically give recognition to Dave W. who's sending me some material he and I have been discussing. He didn't have to go out of his way to do this; he volunteered.

He's done that for me too. Must be something wrong with that guy.

But wait a minute...come to think of it, you sent me some really great stuff on resonators and that's not even taking into consideration the work you've put in for the online tests. Kindness towards others...how the hell did your parents raise you?
Members Hudman Posted March 24, 2007 Members Posted March 24, 2007 bigby, There is a great bunch of guys here. That cripes fella sent me a cool care package a while back. The generousity in this place is mind blowing.
Members Hamhand Posted March 24, 2007 Members Posted March 24, 2007 I've only been here a short while, and I find this a great group to hang out with. Someday, I hope to be able to return some of the kindnesses shown me.
Members jerime Posted March 24, 2007 Members Posted March 24, 2007 I started posting on the recording forum, and well....if you've ever posted over there you get my drift. This forum is much more laid back and it's never you need this or you have to spend X amount to get anything decent. Anyway I'm sure I'll stick around this forum for a while.
Members Tony Burns Posted March 24, 2007 Members Posted March 24, 2007 I totally agree with all of you - at this forum people are more tolerant of peoples likes and dis-likes - just try and say something like my Martin stinks on the Martin forum and they have a roasting party ( Ive seen it ) The Taylor forum is decent , alot of nice folks over their as well - but this forum is number #1

I think the Taylor forum is lot more laid back now. It seems like it opened up a bit after Taylor made them change the name. There is a bunch of nice people over there. Many of them don't own Taylor guitars and the senior members (Taylor owners) don't look down on those that don't own Taylors. I find myself posting there more often (as Edman). My only complaint is the "no price discussion" rule. It's actually pretty common on other guitar forums. You can check it out here: http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=24 I still prefer this forum because of the friends I made here. I also like the freeedom we have. The moderators seem to trust us. We do a pretty good job of remaining civil towards each other. I have yet to see any ego maniacs here.
Members carguy Posted March 24, 2007 Members Posted March 24, 2007 A while back, Cripes had a little "lottery" for an MAudio Blackbox. I was fortunate to win it, and I'm still grateful. He wouldn't even let me pay the postage. That's the kind of folks that hang out here.By the way, coming soon: Soupy Sales in my avatar!!

Members guitarist21 Posted March 25, 2007 Members Posted March 25, 2007 No more Ironsides? I liked the disheveled, toothy guy. Ellen
Members Bernie P. Posted March 25, 2007 Members Posted March 25, 2007 This is a great forum!Lots of helpful folk's willing to share what they know and very friendly.Try suggesting an Epi you found is as good or better than a Gibson at the Gibson forums and forget about it.They'll tear you apart.Another great thing is all the new music I've been made aware of here.So many fine guitarists I've never heard of till I started hanging out here.Got a nice list for the next cd order .

I like this forum because there are so many outgoing and generous folks. I also like APM. I won my Behringer mixer in a similar lottery over there.
Members KATMAN Posted March 25, 2007 Members Posted March 25, 2007 Best advice on any acousic forum I know of.I belong to different guitar forums, but by far this is #1 when it comes talking acoustics.
Members AugTPD Posted March 25, 2007 Members Posted March 25, 2007 This forum is full of good natured folks with sound advice. It sure is nice compared to some other forums where the goal seems to be to contradict anything said by someone else.
