Members Space Guitar Posted March 27, 2007 Members Posted March 27, 2007 Anyone have experience with these?? got any sound clips or know of any out there. I saw Kottke play one live a while ago and have been thinking about picking one up ever since then.
Members brahmz118 Posted March 28, 2007 Members Posted March 28, 2007 I own a RainSong JM1000 (jumbo 6-string) and I love it. We've had a few threads here about RainSongs and composite guitars in general -- you can probably find them with the search function. If they don't have the information you need, feel free to ask for more info. Here's a video of Erik Mongrain playing a JM1000:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjEnSgzPRf8 Here's a sound clip of Al Petteway playing a JM3000 (jumbo 12-string):http://www.dreamguitars.com/audio/Rainsong%20JM3000_12string.MP3

Members DonK Posted March 28, 2007 Members Posted March 28, 2007 I've played a few Rainsongs and have really liked them. The long-time salesman at my favorite store (Brian Meader at Chuck Levin's Washington Music Center) swears by them, and he's a serious guitar guy - been selling Martin's, Taylors and lots of high end guitars for years. I've thought about getting one from time to time: I like the idea of not having to tweak the action from winter to summer or worry about humidity on at least one guitar. The CA guitars are nice too, but - and I know this is silly - I prefer the Rainsong headstock. The CA headstock just looks weird to me.
