Hi everyone,

I'm interested in getting either a Martin D15 custom or a high end Takamine (cool tube). Acoustically I prefer the Martin. I wonder how it would work as a guitar toplay live with if I add a pickup later.

Apart from Fishman pickups I do know any brand names so any piece of advice is much welcome!!!

Thanks for reading this post

all you really need to play acoustic live is a good soundman. if you havent got that it'll be tough, if you have - it'll be easy!
what i mean by this is, get the guitar you love - worry about that stuff later on. Seems to me like a lot of people play Taylor on stage, but i have to say their tone doesnt really do it for me - the way most people put it throught the PA. lacks character often imo, but their so easy to play its easy to see why so many people choose them.

Lots of people do like Taks for stage guitars, but frankly, if you have your heart set on a Martin, only a Martin will do. You have a lot of choices of pickups to add to the Martin - some folks speak very highly of the K&K Pure Western. There was a very good article in Acoustic Guitar mag last fall about all the options. It is the issue with the chrome resonator on the cover and you can read it on their website.
